What to Watch This Year: World Cinema Series

My first reason to make a blog is to ramble about doramas and jmovies (eiga) that I like. Last year, I don’t have much time and effort to bring you my supposed to be scheduled review; a review a month. So, I think I should really do that this year.

I think this is a best time too for me to try something new, too. It is Novroz that inspired me to write reviews again. One of her latest post talked about “World Cinema Series”, an event created by Caroline, which goal is to take a trip around the world in movies or in other words: to watch and review at least one movie per country.

For this year, I plan to review ten movies, starting on February. Hopefully, on the third Monday of each month, I’m able to review different movies from different countries, with various genres too.

Btw, here are the movies I’ve watched but no chance to review them last year. Four of them are Japanese movies with “music” as its main theme and the rest are Japanese live action movies, Korean romance movies, and animations. Feel free to vote on movie that you want me to review first. I’m going to pick the top 5 movies to be reviewed this year.

And for the other fives, I want to watch the best from these. Care to help me by voting? ;)

Have any other suggestion? Any genre will do. My only concerns are, well,  I never like a movie with on-screen sex and brutal violence. :)

Thanks for reading this. See you!

I am with you on on-screne sex…don’t mind brutal violence tho ;)

Aha…we same movies for Indonesian. I have watched some in your Japanese list. Would love to watch Swing Girl again.

Glad you’re joining in Dhitz :)

Hehe… ^^ I don’t mind a head shot scene, for example, or someone beheaded others like in samurai movies (of course only in movies. LOL.). But, can’t stand if the director exploits them too much like in SAW (IMHO) or maybe making people are tortured to death. Ouch. ^^

Thanks for joining and the link.
You’ve got some interesting movies. I have seen In July but can’t remember it so well.
I absolutely loved Once and In the Mood for Love. It would be great to see them reviewed.
I’m not familiar with your first list and will be very interested to find out about them.

You’re welcomed, Caroline. Thanks for making the event too. I’m intrigued after reading Once, I’m in the Mood for Love, and In July in one of IMDB’s user list. Even though the main theme is romance, there’s something unique in their plot which I want to see it myself. Glad that I find you loving Once and I’m in the Mood for Love. It convinced me more that the movies are worth to try. :)
